George III Ebony Inlaid Sideboard of highly figured Mahogany.
Circa 1800. The rectangular shaped top with convex shaped
ends and a concave shaped central section is surmounted with a
back splash board. This back splash board, being 12" deep, has
two (2) offset sliding doors which open to expose a storage compartment
along the entire width of this ebony inlaid back splash board.
The crossbanded top is above a center concave section containing
a double drawer, flanked on one side with a cupboard door and
the other side a cellarette drawer---all richly inlaid with ebony.
This is all raised on square tapered legs, with ebony inlay, terminating
in spade shaped feet. Meas.: 74" - W, 26 3/4" - D, 43 1/2" - H
