A Federal Parcel Guilded Mahogany and
Eglomise Banjo Clock, signed on the face "Simon Willard & Sons--Boston," c.
1815. The circular dial face with Roman numeral chapter
ring enclosed by a brass bezel above a flaring trapesodial eglomise decorated panel,
enclosed by an inlaid mahogany panel, over a rectangular eglomise panel depicting a naval
battle between the "Wasp & Reindeer."---Some flaking & paint loss to
both eglomise panels. |

A George III Carved Mahogany Tall case
Clock. The works signed: "Andrew Fowlds-London," c. 1790. The 'pagoda' shaped top centering three brass ball-and-steeple finials, above a
hood with a hinged & glazed door opening to a brass engraved dial with minute and date
register, inscribed: 'Andrew Fowlds - LONDON', flanked by fluted quarter columns
with brass capitals and brass 'stop-fluted' reeding. The waisted case below, similiarily
fitted with fluted columns, brass capitals, & brass 'stop-fluted' reeding centering a
moulded edge door of highly-figured crotch-grained mahogany. The base below, enclosing a
panel of matching crotch mahogany with similiar moulding, on bracket feet. |
