FEDERAL MAHOGANY and BIRD'S-EYE MAPLE WORK TABLE.
New England, circa 1800-1810. A fine Federal Mahogany work table, with bird's-eye maple drawer fronts and original lion's head pulls. The rectangular top with outset rounded corners above a case with two drawers and a bag slide drawer (bag not fitted), each centering a veneer panel of bird's-eye maple. The two (2) top drawers fitted with original lion's head pulls.....The upper drawer has a fitted interior with small dividers. This is all flanked by turned stiles continuing to reeded legs, terminating in brass casters. 28-1/2 x 20 x 16-1/2 in. Top is not original, casters are old replacements.
