A RARE Southern Inlaid Walnut Huntboard (Virginia or Maryland), circa 1790-1810.
A most desirable and rare inlaid and serpentine fronted huntboard (or 'slab' board). This walnut and walnut veneer Serpentine Hepplewhite Huntboard with a back 'splash' board and a single one (1) piece top has near 'perfect' proportions. The back splash board as well as the drawer faces are veneered with highly figured American 'branch-grained' walnut. These drawer fronts, as well as the legs, are outlined with a simple string inlay........Showing an 'original' surface with replaced, but appropriate brasses. Meas: 41" - H, 54" - W, 24 1/2" - D
