Regency Sideboard in the Adams manner, first quarter 19th century.
A mahogany sideboard, a tour de force in cabinetmaking,
with generous amounts of figured inlays, and further outlined
with cross banded satinwood inlays on every flat surface. The
entire front of this sideboard is highly decorated with elaborate
inlays and highly figured and matching 'branch-grained' mahogany
veneers.
The top portion having a central mirror, flanked on either side
by glazed cabinets. This all resting on a richly inlaid table
top with the border outlined in cross banded satinwood and with
a central satinwood inlay oval medallion. This over a central
long drawer which is flanked by drawers on either side.
This all rests on pedestals on either side, with richly inlaid
figured mahogany panels in the Adams manner. The one pedestal
contains slide out drawers and the other, a shelf and a wine/bottle
drawer. Retains the original finish.
